Jay Leno’s Garage – Wet Blasting Vapor Honing

           Wet Blasting is by far the fastest growing technology for cleaning metal parts.  Blast & Wash Systems is a distributor of wet blasting equipment manufactured by Vapor Honing Technologies.  This technology uses water and 173-25 mesh glass beads at 100PSI pressure and ambient temperature to clean dirty and greasy metal parts without harming plastic, rubber, or brass during the process. When pieces with rubber were put into the Vapor Honing unit the small writing on the rubber was still in perfect condition.

           Vapor Honing was privileged with the opportunity to share their technology with Jay Leno on his popular TV show “Jay Leno’s Garage”.  A foot pedal is used to operate this piece of equipment, therefore, Jay Leno made the comment that “if you can play piano you can work this”. Jay Leno cleaned parts from his 1930 Brough Superior SS100 with the Vapor Blasting technology and said his parts looked almost brand new. The small spaces he once had to try to clean with q-tips were now more thoroughly cleaned with ease.
