Transmet was incorporated in 1979 as a subsidiary of Battelle to commercialize patented Rapid Solidification Technology (RST) for producing solid metal products directly from a molten state in a fraction of a second.

Today, Transmet, in our 53,000sq foot manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio, USA, is the world’s largest supplier of rapidly solidified metal with customers all around the globe. Blast Media Applications

Paint and Coating Removal: 

Transmet Cast Shot products have proven to be cleaner and less costly than other paint and coating removal methods like chemical stripping, burn off, and even shot blasting with other media.

Surface Finishing of Castings: 

Transmet Cast Shot products are used in surface finishing applications where ferrous contamination and/or damage to parts being shot blasted is a concern.

Stainless Steel Grit: 

Transmet Corporation Stainless Steel Grit is a perfect replacement for Aluminum Oxide, Glass Bead, Silicon Carbide, Copper Slag, Garnet, and others.

Transmet’s Stainless Steel Grit utilizes its angular shape, high hardness, and high bulk density to deliver more energy to the parts being cleaned. Resulting surface profile is consistent, bright, and without ferrous contamination.
